Teatro Niccolini is located in the heart of Florence’s historic city centre, just a few steps from the Duomo. Check the map and find out how to reach us on foot, by bicycle, by public transport or by car.

CHOOSE YOUR ROUTE

BY CAR

IN AUTO

From the north (A1): exit at Firenze Nord and follow signs for the city centre/Fortezza da Basso, then continue towards Santa Maria Novella Station or the ring roads.

From the south (A1): exit at Firenze Sud and follow signs for the city centre, then head towards one of the parking facilities outside the ZTL restricted traffic zone.

From Pisa/Livorno (A11 or FI-PI-LI): follow signs for Firenze Centro, then continue towards Fortezza da Basso and the nearby parking facilities.

The theatre is located within the ZTL restricted traffic zone. Always check the road signs and leave your car in one of the parking facilities listed in the following section.

BY BIKE

The area around Teatro Niccolini is flat and can be reached via Florence’s main cycle routes, including those along the Lungarni, from Piazza San Marco and from Santa Maria Novella Station.

If you use a bike-sharing service, you can locate and unlock a bicycle through the operator’s app. At the end of your ride, the bicycle must be parked only in the designated areas shown in the app.

PUBLIC TRANSPORTATION

From Santa Maria Novella Station, Teatro Niccolini is about a 10-minute walk through the historic city centre towards the Duomo.

The T1 tram line connects Villa Costanza, Santa Maria Novella Station and Careggi. Get off at Alamanni-Stazione or Valfonda-Stazione and continue on foot.

From Florence Airport, you can take the T2 tram line to San Marco-Università, then reach the theatre with a short walk through the city centre.

For buses, schedules and temporary service changes, always check the Autolinee Toscane website or app.

A PIEDI

From Santa Maria Novella Station, Teatro Niccolini is about a 10-minute walk through the historic city centre towards the Duomo.

CAR PARKING

Teatro Niccolini is located within Florence’s Limited Traffic Zone (ZTL). Before driving into the city centre, always check the access times and current road signs.

San Lorenzo, Mercato Centrale: one of the closest options to the theater, followed by a short walk.

Santa Maria Novella Station: parking open 24 hours a day, with easy access to the historic city centre and about a 10-minute walk from the theater.

Fortezza, Fiera and Parterre: parking facilities outside the most central area, convenient for leaving your car and continuing on foot or by public transport.

Availability, access and rates may vary. Check Firenze Parcheggi before setting off.

THEATER ACCESSIBILITY

The auditorium is accessible via a wheelchair lift.

The platform measures 80 × 73 cm and supports a maximum total weight of 230 kg, including the passenger and wheelchair.

SECURE PARKING

Garage Michelangelo, Via Ricasoli 28/A

In addition to car parking, the facility offers a paid secure parking service for bicycles and electric scooters.

The garage is located on the same street as Teatro Niccolini, just a few minutes away on foot.

Before your visit, we recommend contacting the facility directly to check availability, opening hours and rates.

BIKE SHARING

Florence has a RideMovi bike-sharing service, with traditional and electric bicycles available in different areas of the city.

Through the RideMovi app, you can find the nearest bicycle, unlock it and check rates and terms of use.

You cannot end your ride by leaving the bicycle freely on Via Ricasoli. Bikes must be parked only within the virtual parking areas indicated by geofencing in the app, for example in Piazza San Marco or the Piazza del Duomo area.

Before walking away, always check in the app that your ride has been successfully ended.
